Welcome to our website of Plano Music Mentors! We are pleased to meet you and excited to teach you and learn with you all to help you become better musicians along your musical journey.

Thanks for checking out our website! Our goals are to help each individual, as a young teen or child, to get the opportunities and resources they need to succeed in the musical field. We want to encourage children to stay active in musical programs or pursue great accomplishments and achievements to enable success. Read more about your mentors below!
MISSION
Our missions as the Plano Music Mentors are to make music accessible to all who are willing to learn and further excellence in our musicians. We want to push young individuals to strive for better musicianship, leadership, and valuable life skills that can help them become outstanding performers as they continue to remain active in musical programs to pursuit their goals. Lastly, we want to encourage their relentless, hard work in music and to motivate them to earnestly endeavor their greatest aspirations with music.

MICHELLE LUAN

Hi everyone! Michelle Luan plays clarinet, and she would love to work with any passionate young teens or children that range from beginner to intermediate, and advanced levels. Michelle can also help people that need advice, tips, or conducting help for drum majors, since she was a drum major in the Clark High School band. Besides being drum major of a marching band, she's competed at the region, area, and state levels of the Texas 6A bands, and she made the Texas all-state concert band this past year. Moreover, she also participated in solos and ensemble contests, and she is a current member of the GDYO wind symphony. WALID AL-BAKI
VICE PRESIDENT, FOUNDER
Hello everybody! Walid plays the French Horn and have experience with the mellophone as well. Walid would be more than glad to help students with any range of experience, from middle school to high school. He has also competed in multiple solo and ensemble contests within the past few years with top division ratings everytime. Walid also competed in All-Region this past year and performed with the Region 25 Symphonic Band, and he has competed at the state level for solo and ensemble. Furthermore, Walid has a very flexbile schedule, so send him an email if you are interested!

CALEB YU
JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL COORDINATOR
Sarah has been playing the flute for 7 years and has made the All-Region Band and received 1st Division ratings in Solo and Ensemble every year since sixth grade. In addition, she is an All-State Musician and a member of the GDYO Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also won awards in several out-of-school competitions such as the Collin County Young Artist Competition, Vernell Gregg Competition, Dallas Symphonic Festival, and Texas Flute Festival. COREY LI
PUBLIC RELATIONS, COORDINATOR
Hi all! Corey Li is very enthusiatic about helping the community, volunteering, and above all, working with kids of all ages. Corey is a bass clarinet player, with over 5 years of experience through the Plano middle school and high school band programs. He has gotten consistent first divisions in many solo and ensemble contests, and he has been involved outside of school in DAAYO concerts throughout my high school music career. He is currently in the top band at Plano Senior High School, and he has made the All-Region Symphonic Band in the past. He has gained many helpful life experiences from band throughout the years, and he is willing to share my thoughts and beliefs about music to the public, promote this wonderful organization, and serve as a member in this program to make the mentors' jobs easier and by reaching out to different schools, bands, and directors to help more students achieve their musical accomplishments.

Hi everybody! Caleb is a current drum major at Clark High school and plays the Clarinet. He has a strong desire for helping passionate, hard-working students on basic playing techniques, conducting , and all-region music for both middle school and high school. Caleb has made the all-region band each of the last 3 years. He has also earned superior honors in solo and ensemble competitions.
